GROWING'S
Meet Yukichika and Fumisato, the brother duo of Tokyo’s own GROWING'S. Formed in 2014, this two-piece dynamic wishes to keep you smiling with their hearty sound and catchy, interwoven beats. We at JpopRocks were thrilled to ask them some of the hard-hitting questions that we wanted to know.
JPR: Is there any meaning behind naming yourselves GROWING'S?
GROWING'S: We've named ourselves GROWING'S for the fact that we are growing up in every way.
JPR: If you can describe yourself by food, which food are you and why?
Yukichika: I would be English Tea with some milk and tons of sugar. That's because my head is filled with sugary stuff.
Fumisato: Anko (A Japanese sweet red bean paste), because people have always called me Tsubu (a piece of red bean grain).
JPR: What's unique about GROWING'S and how will you get your band to stand out?
GROWING'S: GROWING'S is a brother duo with a two-piece dynamic.
JPR: What made you choose the instruments you play?
Yukichika: I have always been drawn to the drums.
Fumisato: I took up the guitar so that I can perform with Yukichika. As for vocals, Yukichika forced me to sing at our second performance which started my vocal career.
JPR: What's the most challenging part about being musicians?
GROWING'S: We don't have any difficulties about being musicians. Even when we are physically tired, the fatigue would go away once we see the audience having fun.
JPR: If you could only choose one song to play every time you walked into a room, what would it be?
GROWING'S: "Dream Come True"
JPR: If you could trade places with any other person for a week, famous or not, living or dead, real or fictional, with whom would it be?
GROWING'S: Hiro Tsunoda, who is Yukichika's drum master.
JPR: Describe what the other person's best quality is.
Yukichika: Fumisato is pretty and he has a gift that I don't have. He is swell.
Fumisato: I admire how Yukichika is always upbeat and full of enthusiasm.
JPR: Do you have any message for your JpopRocks fans?
GROWING'S: We hope our music will make you smile!!!!
